*Troll Treats*

Since I was a child, I’ve been a lover of all things glittery, rainbow, and bright!  When the first Trolls movie was released a few years ago, my sister and I had so much fun watching such a happy, joyous movie.  Now that my son is getting old enough to sit still (for a few minutes at least) and watch a movie, I’m having a lot of fun watching these fun kids movies with him!  Last weekend the new DreamWorks Trolls World Tour movie was released and I thought it would be great to make a treat inspired by the film!  My sister recently bought me a box of the Trix Troll’s cereal she came across while grocery shopping and it is a delicious rainbow, fruity cereal with tye dye marshmallows sprinkled throughout it.  My first thought when I opened the cereal was that it’d be perfect as a crispy treat!   These Troll Treats are the perfect snack to munch on while you and your family enjoy the new Trolls World Tour movie!  🙂

These Troll Treats are super quick and simple to make, which is great when you want a yummy treat for your movie night without spending hours in the kitchen!  To start melt your unsalted butter and marshmallows in a medium-sized sauce pot over low heat.  I like to stir the mixture fairly consistently while it all melts just to make sure nothing burns or sticks to the bottom of the pot.

While the butter and marshmallows are melting, place your Trix Trolls cereal in a large bowl sprayed with a little bit of pan spray.  (Just to make sure your cereal treat mixture won’t get stuck inside the bowl.)

At this time I also like to prep my pan.  I sprayed a 9″ x 13″ cake pan with non-stick cooking spray.  You can also place a piece of parchment on the bottom of the pan cut into a 9″ x 13″ rectangle, then sprayed with a tad more non-stick spray if you like.

Once the marshmallow-butter mixture is all melted together, pour it into your bowl of cereal.  Be VERY careful, as the mixture will be like molten lava since it just came off the stove!!  Stir it all together until all the cereal is coated with the sticky marshmallow goodness.

Pour your cereal treat mixture into your prepared pan and press down to make sure the treats are flat and even in thickness.  Let the bars cool and set up for about 1 hour. Once set, it’s time to decorate our treats!

In a microwave-safe bowl, place your white chocolate.  Microwave your chocolate in 15 second intervals, stirring in between each set until your chocolate is melted and smooth.  Drizzle your bars with the white chocolate in any fun pattern you choose.  Scatter your rainbow sprinkles onto the white chocolate while it is still sticky.  Let harden for about 10 minutes then cut your treats into squares (or any shape you like).

Lastly, put your Troll Treats on a plate, put on the Trolls World Tour, and enjoy a movie night at home with your loved ones!  Like Poppy says, “I think everyone deserves happiness!”  And right now, these bright rainbow Troll Treats are bringing me happiness and I hope they bring you happiness too, my friends! 🙂
