There are so many fall treats that I look forward to once summer comes to an end and that familiar chill creeps into the air. One of my favorite treats to indulge in is pumpkin doughnuts, but not just any doughnuts… Pumpkin Krispy Kreme doughnuts! And what’s better than pumpkin Krispy Kreme doughnuts?! Those melt-in-your-mouth pastries with some pumpkin spice coffee drinks! I headed to my local Krispy Kreme shop where the Warm Doughnut light was on and tried every new fall coffee drink and doughnut item they had to share my thoughts on these yummy fall treats! 🙂
Doughnuts
No. 1 – Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Doughnut: This is just like their perfect original glazed doughnut with a nice hint of pumpkin spice. It was super light and fluffy, and perfect paired with my morning coffee!
No. 2 – Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut: My Favorite!! The warm soft center of the doughnut was perfectly balanced by the almost crisp, glazed outside. The pumpkin spice flavor was much more pronounced than the other doughnuts so for me it was perfect. I really enjoyed this one!
No. 3 – Pumpkin Spice Latte Swirl Doughnut: I was really excited about this new flavor, but unfortunately it was quite lackluster. I was expecting some sort of super creamy aspect from the vanilla and coffee buttercreams to pair with the pumpkin spice and sugar exterior, but it just tasted like a cinnamon sugar doughnut with a couple stripes of icing on top. Oh well… It looks nice though, right?!
No. 4 – Pumpkin Spice Original Filled Cheesecake Doughnut: This new flavor was a yummy one! It was their original glazed doughnut with a hint of pumpkin spice and filled with a good amount of their cheesecake cream filling. The cheesecake filling had what tasted like a hint of citrus to it and was a nice addition to the pumpkin spice flavor of the encasing pastry. The decorative drizzle of cheesecake icing was also a nice touch. This one is definitely a keeper!
Coffee Drinks
No. 1 – Pumpkin Spice Coffee: This was a yummy little pick-me-up first thing in the morning! It was a rich coffee with a nice, strong cinnamon and spice flavor. It came already prepared with what I think was the flavoring and cream. It was my favorite out of the three fall drinks!
No. 2 – Pumpkin Spice Latte: Krispy Kreme’s version of the infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte! It was a lot lighter in flavor than I was expecting, but the pumpkin flavor was good. The foamed milk on top was nice and fluffy, overall it was a yummy pumpkin spice latte. Good job Krispy Kreme! 🙂
No. 3 – Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee: New for fall 2022, Krispy Kreme is offering their Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee. It was a nice, refreshing coffee. The coffee is blended with pumpkin pie sauce, which is intriguing. The pumpkin flavor was more pronounced than the spice itself which was surprising, but it was creamy and pumpkin-y so I liked it. If you like your coffee iced, definitely one to try!
