As a mom, my days start early and end late. Mid-afternoon always calls for a pick-me-up and lately I’ve been craving a cold, refreshing iced tea. Our garden has been blooming with herbs recently, and the basil and mint plants are looking beautiful! I decided to try combining some of that vibrant mint into my afternoon tea and it really was a refreshing combination. I always like things a little sweet, so I added some honey and a bit of cleansing lemon juice for a delicious glass full of antioxidants and lively flavors! My Revitalizing Mint, Honey, and Lemon Infused Green Tea will give you a much needed energy boost to your day and cleanse your system to feel your best while hustling through your day!

The first thing we need to do is to brew our green tea. I like to make sun tea, but you could always brew hot tea and let it cool. I add 8 ounces of water to a mason jar and add the green tea bag. I cover it and let it sit in the sun for at least an hour. When the tea is fully brewed and room temperature, remove the tea bag.

Into the tea mason jar, whisk in your honey and lemon juice. Once combined, add your chopped mint leaves and use a cocktail muddler to gently mash the leaves three or four times to release the juices. Add a lemon slice for garnish if you’d like (always fun to make your drink pretty to sip) and fill your glass with ice. Find a sunny spot by a window and take a moment to enjoy your revitalizing tea! This recipe is so simple to make and would be perfect to make a large batch and place in the fridge to enjoy anytime you’d like. I hope you feel refreshed and rejuvenated with this delicious combination of mint, honey, lemon, and green tea. It will help you feel your best, while powering through the rest of your busy day! 🙂
